Neediness! Aaaaaaarrggghh! LIMITS!

Scrabble.

What the hell does scrabble mean anyways? How'd they come up with Scrabble?
Some sort of weird amalgamation of scramble and babble? Kinda makes sense when you think about it.
Its a game where you scramble to babble out words? Errr... Sorta.

Online scrabble is sorta lame.

What the hell. Sure beats pretending to sleep while dying inside.

Holy Shit! It works! Woooo! Freedom!

I hate making up titles!

Why can't I post something without a title?! Drives me insane to think of new titles everytime I want to post!
Actually, I've never tried just leaving the title field blank.

Hold on.

Hurray?

Oh my god, its actually happening! Haha! Who knew?

Movie Review: Speed

Movie Review #1: Speed (1994)
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock.

I remember watching Speed with my parents, when I was in sixth grade I think. I still remember me open mouthedly gaping at the television, not wanting to blink lest I should miss something. OK that's pushing it a little but hey! I was a kid back then! But you've gotta give it to the movie, it was one hell of a ride! Literally!

I'm not explaining the premise of the movie for you under-the-rock dwellers, so let me just quickly tell you what I think of it. Firstly, Its one of the movies on my CANNOT list. That should tell you a lot. It doesn't? OK let me explain.

CANNOT stands for Can not Not watch On TV. As in, the movies that I can't NOT watch when its showing on TV. Those of you who know me, will know that I pretty much watch any drivel that's on TV, but the CANNOT list is an elite list! It consists of the movies that I just cannot turn away from, which means, I would've seen them about thirty times by now.

What's great about Speed is that, it never lets up. Right from the elevator scene where Jack first encounters Howard the psychopath till the subway scene where Jack finally gives (or doesn't give) Howard a 'heads up' (Yeah. That just happened.), there's always something happening that keeps you engrossed. Debutante director, Jan de Bont has done a wonderful job at pacing the story by revealing key information at evenly spaced intervals that keeps raising the stakes, not allowing your mind to wander.

Killer storyline and cinematography aside, individual performances are just brilliant. Although Keanu Reeves plays concerned cop Jack Traven to perfection, its Sandra Bullock's portrayal of Annie, the makeshift bus driver that really elevates this movie. Displaying perfect amounts of concern, fear and pluck when necessary, Ms. Bullock really captures the essence of a hostage cum sidekick. The dudes who play Harry and Captain Montgomery (Not important enough for me to wiki Speed) also carry out their roles with a natural candor.

All in all, Speed has everything in the movie working in its favour; popcorn plot, clever dialogues, unrelenting action and rock solid acting performances. Oooh and also, it has a pretty good background score as well. I'm giving it 8.3/10.

The only thing that makes me sad about this whole issue is that it's sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control, is regarded by many (including me) as one of the worst sequels of all time. Sigh. Well, what can you do? I'll tell you what. Go back and watch Speed all over again, that's what!

Jinx Broken! I hope..

You know what? Every time I make promises of upcoming movie reviews, my blog stagnates. It just happens! I dunno why! Anyways, I hope atleast this time I can break the jinx. Finally found a decent blog address. So that's a good sign. Have to set aside a proper time each week to blog or something. I dunno.

I don't even know why I care. Its not like anybody reads this shit anyways. (Can you swear on blogs? Hmmm..)

Anyways, here goes.
